Visit 1: Consent Process-Hearing Screening and Questionnaires

Visit Length: 1.5-2 hours 

Location: The first visit is at the Phillips-Wangensteen Building on the University of Minnesota East Bank Campus.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Visit 2 or 3: Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Scan 

A MEG scan is a non-invasive test. The MEG machine works like a very sensitive microphone to detect the electrical activity of brain cells. 

Visit Length: 1.5-2 hours 

Location: United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Visit 2 or 3: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) 

An MRI is a non-invasive imaging technique. The MRI machine works like a camera to record the structure of your brain anatomy.

Visit Length: 1.5-2 hours 

Location: University of Minnesota East Bank Campus. Scans are at the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) building, located next to the TCF football stadium.

There are three visits for this research study.  They will be scheduled around your availability and the neuroimaging site's availability. All visits can be completed within one week depending on scheduling.
